When reviewing quarantined messages in SpamExperts, you may see options to Release or Release and Train a message. Both options allow a quarantined message to continue to your mailbox, but they serve slightly different purposes.
Understanding the difference can help ensure that legitimate messages are handled correctly and provide SpamExperts with useful feedback when a message has been misclassified.
Handling Quarantined Messages
Release vs. Release & Train: Use Release to deliver an individual email without providing feedback, or choose Release and Train if you recognize a legitimate message quarantined in error to deliver it and help improve SpamExperts' future filtering accuracy.
Using the Allow List: Because releasing or training a message does not add senders to an Allow List, only add a known, trusted email address (rather than an entire domain) to your Allow List if their legitimate messages are repeatedly quarantined and after verifying their email configuration is correct.
Unrecognized, Suspicious, or Spam Messages: Leave unrecognized, suspicious, or spam emails in quarantine without interacting with them—and if spam reaches your inbox, use Train as Spam to report it.
