How to configure Mozilla Thunderbird

Users can access their webmail accounts with desktop clients like Mozilla Thunderbird using either IMAP or POP3. We suggest IMAP.

Follow these steps to create an IMAP or POP3 account in Thunderbird:

1. Select File > New > Existing Mail Account.
2. Enter Your full name (your preference), Email address, and Password (click the eye to confirm your password).
3. Select Configure manually.
4. Select your preferred email protocol below and update the server settings:
   
   

1. Setup IMAP account

   Incoming Server settings:

   1. Protocol: IMAP
   2. Hostname: Enter secure.myvcgmail.com
   3. Port: 993
   4. Connection security: SSL/TLS
   5. Authentication method: Encrypted password
   6. Username: full email address

   Outgoing Server settings:

   1. Hostname: Enter secure.myvcgmail.com
   2. Port: 465
   3. Connection security: SSL/TLS
   4. Authentication method: Encrypted password
   5. Username: full email address

2. Setup POP account

   Incoming Server settings:

   1. Protocol: POP
   2. Hostname: Enter secure.myvcgmail.com
   3. Port: 995
   4. Connection security: SSL/TLS
   5. Authentication method: Encrypted password
   6. Username: full email address

   Outgoing Server settings:

   1. Hostname: Enter secure.myvcgmail.com
   2. Port: 465
   3. Connection security: SSL/TLS
   4. Authentication method: Encrypted password
   5. Username: full email address
5. Click Done (if Done is disabled first click Re-test).
6. You should see the Account successfully created message. Click Finish.
