How to configure Apple (Mac) Mail

Apple (Mac) Mail is an email client that comes standard with all Apple computers running Mac OS. Webmail users can connect Apple Mail to their email accounts using IMAP or POP connectivity.

Follow these steps to configure Apple Mail to check your SmarterMail email:

1. Open Apple Mail. If you run it for the first time and do not have any mail accounts configured in it, skip the next step. Apple Mail will take you directly to creating one.
2. Open the Adding Mail Account wizard:
   
   
1. Click Mail > Preferences
2. Select the Accounts tab
3. Click the + button at the bottom left corner
   
   
3. Enter the account information:
   
   
1. Your full name
2. Your full email address (ex. name@yourwebsite.com)
3. Your password (the password you use to login to your SmarterMail account)
   
   
4. Click Sign In.
5. Match the following settings to complete the account setup:
   
   
1. Email Address: Your full email address (ex. name@yourwebsite.com).
2. Username: Your full email address (ex. name@yourwebsite.com)
3. Password: if it is not auto-populated from the previous step, enter your password you use to login to your SmarterMail account.
4. Account Type: Select IMAP or POP (we suggest IMAP).
5. Incoming Mail Server: secure.myvcgmail.com
6. Outgoing Mail Server: secure.myvcgmail.com
   
   
6. Click Sign In.
7. The account should now be configured.
