This user guide covers our FTP configuration settings and the configuration steps for the FTP clients suggested in this article (click here).
General configuration settings:
If you're using a different FTP than the two mentioned below, or if you'd like to configure your FTP manually, here are the settings you'll need.
- Username / Password: Will be provided to you by VCG via our secure ticketing system. If you'd like to change the password for this, you'll need to do so within the cPanel. Click here to learn how. Important: Both the username and password are case-sensitive.
- FTP server: ftp.yourdomain.com (change "yourdomain.com" to your domain name)
- FTP & explicit FTPS port: 21
- Path: /home/cPanelusername/public_ftp/incoming (change "cPanelusername" to the username you use to log into the cPanel)
If you manage the DNS for your domain, you'll need to add the following A Record:
- Name: ftp
- TTL: 500
- Type: A
- Record: 13.90.131.25
Please remember that the FTP service is not intended to store files. It is a file transfer protocol for moving files from a client to a server and to your local network.
