This feature is only available for PRO Connect or Work Subscribers.
Please read the KB article About Quote Items before preparing your quote items for import.
Initial Setup
VCG Support will setup all of your quote items for you at no charge. Once they're imported, you can easily edit the items by following the steps in Editing, Copying, or Deleting Quote Items in Quote Manager.
We have several options to consider when you're ready to have VCG Support get your quote items imported into your Quote Manager, and they're listed below. We recommend the "data dump", but it's entirely up to you which option you prefer. Most importantly, please remember that we're here to help. At any time that you have a question or need assistance, please email vcgsupport@vcgcorporate.com or call (800) 558-3054 to speak to someone. Our hours are Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm CST.
Required Fields:
The following fields are required to setup your quote items (please refer to the KB article "About Quote Items" and "Creating Quote Items in Quote Manager" for detailed information regarding the fields available for your quote items):
- Item Name
- Category
- Calculation Type (one of the following)
- HXW
- 1Dimension
- Hourly Rate
- Quantity
- Markup
Option 1 - Data dump (recommended)
If you are able to provide a spreadsheet (Excel or CSV) export of your "inventory items" from your existing software provider, send it to us and we should be able to gain a better understanding of your data and the best approach to getting started. We'll work the data to get it into the proper format and send it back to you for editing or approval. Send your spreadsheet to vcgsupport@vcgcorporate.com.
Option 2 - Start with a basic template
We've created a basic spreadsheet (work_quoteitems_basic.xlsx) at the bottom of this article that contains a few examples of signs and services that you might offer to your customers. Download the spreadsheet and add your items. With the exception of the first (header) row, feel free to update/delete anything you want. We're simply providing the template as a guide. As mentioned, please retain the first (header) row of column titles. The red colored titles are the only required information (you can add/delete/change the data within the red colored column title), but we strongly recommend that you consider adding as much detail as possible to minimize any individual item edits after the import has been completed.
Option 3 - Start with a detailed template
In order to provide you with a "bigger picture" of how you might setup your quote items, we've provided a rather detailed spreadsheet (work_quoteitems_detailed.xlsx) at the bottom of this article that contains sign types, variations of the sign type, and other ideas.
