About Quote Items

Creating items for using in preparing a quote is designed to be adaptable to satisfy most any product or service that your company may sell to your customers. From custom signs to installation to print, Work's quoting feature does it all.

Quote items can be organized in custom categories. You can create as many categories as you'd like, but at least one category is required to create a quote item. Examples of categories include Banners, Cabinet Signs, Vehicle Wraps, Equipment, Hourly Rates, etc. For more information on Categories, see Creating Categories in Quote Manager

Pricing for items is based on the same calculations that your shop is using today. We call these "calculation types", and offer calculations based on:

Square footage (HxW), examples include:

• Banners
• Cabinet Signs
• Pylon Signs
• Aluminum Signs
• Vinyl Graphics

Lineal dimension (1Dimension), examples include:

• Channel Letters (price per inch)
• Raceways (price per foot)
• Dimensional Letters (price per inch)

Hourly Rate (Hourly), examples include:

• Installation
• Service
• Shop Rates
• Equipment Rates

Quantity (QTY), examples include:

• Banner Grommets
• Poles
• Wire Stakes
• LED Lamps

Markup (Markup), examples include:

• Wholesale Signs
• Banner Stands

You have full control on what information is displayed on the Quote that your customer receives. You can elect to print the default "Quote Text", or a more detailed "Quote Description". You can elect to print line item pricing, or just the subtotal and total amounts. Please see Printing Quotes for more information on printing quotes.

Tax rates are set up as quote items (you can have multiple taxes to meet varying local and state requirements). Please see Creating Taxes in Quote Manager for more information on setting up your sales tax rates.

You can set up minimum pricing at the quote item level to account for small dimensions or minimum quantities.

Quote item pricing can be protected to prevent unauthorized price changes at the quote builder level.
