Your Website consists of 4 different background areas that are editable:
- Base Layer
- Background Layer
- Floating Layer
- Footer Layer
To edit your Website's background, follow these simple steps:
- Click on the Website tab at the top.
- Hover over Site Design and click Background from the navigational drop down menu.
- Click to expand the background layer you'd like to edit.
The Base Layer adds color to the body of your HTML page. If you look at your Website as layers, it's the bottom most layer, and any color will fill the entire browser window.
- For Layer Color enter a HEX value, use the color picker to select your color, or enter the word Transparent to have no color at all.
- Click on Click to browse to upload an image.
- Click Remove layer image to delete the current background image.
- Click the radio button next to the type of repeat you want on your image. If no selection is made, Repeat Image will be used by default.
- Layer Image Position (horizontal): Click the radio button next to the position you want your background image to be place horizontally. Entering a pixel value will position your background image from the left edge of the browser window. If no selection is made, Left will be used by default.
- Layer Image Position (vertical): Click the radio button next to the position you want your background image to be place vertically. Entering a pixel value will position your background image from the top edge of the browser window. If no selection is made, Top will be used by default.
The Background Layer encompasses all of the main content, and spans the entire width of the browser window, and from the top of the browser window to just above the footer. If you look at your Website as layers, it's the second layer just above the Base Layer.
- For Layer Color enter a HEX value, use the color picker to select your color, or enter the word Transparent to have no color at all.
- Click on Click to browse to upload an image.
- Click Remove layer image to delete the current background image.
- Click the radio button next to the type of repeat you want on your image. If no selection is made, Repeat Image will be used by default.
- Layer Image Position (horizontal): Click the radio button next to the position you want your background image to be place horizontally. Entering a pixel value will position your background image from the left edge of the browser window. If no selection is made, Left will be used by default.
- Layer Image Position (vertical): Click the radio button next to the position you want your background image to be place vertically. Entering a pixel value will position your background image from the top edge of the browser window. If no selection is made, Top will be used by default.
The Floating Layer adds an extra dimension to your Website layout. It's a Floating layer, which means it can be positioned any where on your page. It doesn't contain any content, and is used exclusively for design purposes. You can add a background image, color, or turn it off completely.
- Display Layer allows you to turn your Floating Layer on and off. Choose the appropriate Radio Button for your selection.
- For Layer Color enter a HEX value, use the color picker to select your color, or enter the word Transparent to have no color at all.
- Click on Click to browse to upload an image.
- Click Remove layer image to delete the current background image.
- Click the radio button next to the type of repeat you want on your image. If no selection is made, Repeat Image will be used by default.
- Layer Image Position (horizontal): Click the radio button next to the position you want your background image to be place horizontally. Entering a pixel value will position your background image from the left edge of the browser window. If no selection is made, Left will be used by default.
- Layer Image Position (vertical): Click the radio button next to the position you want your background image to be place vertically. Entering a pixel value will position your background image from the top edge of the browser window. If no selection is made, Top will be used by default.
- Enter the pixel value or percentage you would like the height of your Floating Layer to be.
- Enter the pixel value or percentage you would like the width of your Float Layer to be.
- Select the style of border you would like on your Floating Layer, select None for no border.
- Enter the pixel value for the width of the border you would like to apply to each edge of your Floating Layer.
- Enter Border Color HEX value, or use the color picker to select a color for your border.
- Enter the value in Pixels or Percent for each edge of your Floating Layer.
The Footer Layer holds all the Footer content. It's in the same stacking order and as the Background Layer and directly below it on the page. It spans the entire width of the browser window, but it very short in height, which is Skin Design specific.
- For Layer Color enter a HEX value, use the color picker to select your color, or enter the word Transparent to have no color at all
- Click on Click to browse to upload an image
- Click Remove layer image to delete the current background image
- Click the radio button next to the type of repeat you want on your image. If no selection is made, Repeat Image will be used by default
- Layer Image Position (horizontal): Click the radio button next to the position you want your background image to be place horizontally. Entering a pixel value will position your background image from the left edge of the browser window. If no selection is made, Left will be used by default
- Layer Image Position (vertical): Click the radio button next to the position you want your background image to be place vertically. Entering a pixel value will position your background image from the top edge of the browser window. If no selection is made, Top will be used by default
- Select the style of border you would like on your Footer Layer, select None for no border
- Enter the pixel value for the width of the border you would like to apply to each edge of your Background Layer
- Enter Border Color HEX value, or use the color picker to select a color for your border
- Footer Content > Layer Color: Enter HEX value, use the color picker to select your color, or enter the word Transparent to have no color in your Footer Content area
- Footer Content > Text/Link Color: Enter HEX value, use the color picker to select the color of your Footer Text and Links
- Footer Content > Link Rollover Color: Enter HEX value, use the color picker to select the color of your Footer Link Rollovers
