VCG support services will import your existing customer, location, and job data. First some background information:
Our system is built upon a hierarchy of Customer > Locations > Jobs. Your client must have one or more physical locations, and each location can have an unlimited number of projects.
You may provide us with your data in either Excel or CSV format. Your data can be provided in one of the following options:
- A single CSV or spreadsheet file with one row per job. That file would have columns for customer, location and job data. See Sample_A_Import_Client_Location_Project.xlsx attachment below (Column order must remain unchanged).
- Separate spreadsheets (or separate sheets within a single spreadsheet) or CSV files for your customers, locations, and jobs. See Sample_B_Import_Client_Location_Project.xlsx attachment below (Column order must remain unchanged).
Available fields for import, with required fields noted in bold and by *:
client name *
client id (your internal unique identifier for your client)
active (Y/N) *
location name *
location id (your internal unique identifier for this location)
location number (an allowance for an internal "friendly" location identifier unique to this client)
active (Y/N) *
project name *
project id (your internal unique identifier for this project)
projectNumber (an allowance for an internal "friendly" project identifier unique to this client)
projectType (if provided, valid values are: install, manufacture, permit, service, survey, other)
status (if provided, valid values are: pending, out for bid, awarded, complete, cancelled)
